MEET THE PRO-CHANCELLOR – WILLIAM MARTIN SLOANE, Ph.D.

Dr. Sloane is an attorney, bishop, pastoral counselor, professor and university administrator.  His current positions includes board chair of the American College of Counselors, president of the Council on Chiropractic Practice, president of The Society for the Cure of Souls, and vice president of the American Association of Integrative Medicine, and he is a former Democratic Chief Counsel to the Pennsylvanian House of Representatives.

He graduated from York College of Pennsylvania [B.A.], Liberty University [M.A.R. magna cum laude], Widener University [J.D.], London Metropolitan University [Certificate in English Law with distinction], Temple University [LL.M. (Labor)], and American Christian College and Seminary [Ph.D. in Religion magna cum laude].  A Scholar of the Oxford Society of Scholars, Oxford Graduate School, he has taught at Elizabethtown College, Millersville University, Saint Francis University, Shippensburg University, Temple University, Widener University, Wilson College, and Yorktown University.

Dr. Sloane is a member of the Maryland and Pennsylvania bars (Of Counsel to The Shagin Law Group LLC, Harrisburg), a lieutenant colonel and wing legal officer in the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary [Civil Air Patrol], and an addiction specialist at the R.E.A.C.H. Comprehensive Mental Health Clinic.  He was ordained an Anglican priest in 1997 and was consecrated to the episcopate 2008.

He is an executive advisory board member and past chair of the American Board of Forensic Counselors and former executive advisory board member of the American Board of Professional Counselors.  He serves on the Ethics/Appeals Committee of the American Psychotherapy Association and is academic advisor to the International Council of Integrative Medicine.

Dr. Sloane is a member of the American Federation of Television & Radio Artists, the Association of Caribbean Higher Education Administrators, the Commission on Forensic Education, the International Scientific College of the International Academy of Sciences San Marino, Mensa, Phi Alpha Delta, and the Screen Actors Guild.

On a part-time basis, most candidates are anticipated to complete their degree requirements within eighteen months. The determining criteria are dedication and the candidate’s previous academic and professional portfolio.
